Honey Calcite
Honey Calcite is known for its warm golden to amber tones and its translucent, glowing appearance. Its smooth texture and layered structure give it a soft, luminous quality that stands out in both natural and polished forms.
Because of its attractive color and relatively soft structure, Honey Calcite is commonly used for polished stones, carvings, decorative objects, and display pieces. Each specimen shows natural variations in tone and internal patterns.
✨ Fact & Fun Fact:
Honey Calcite is a variety of calcite (calcium carbonate, CaCO₃). Its golden color is typically caused by iron or other mineral impurities. Calcite has a Mohs hardness of 3, making it softer than quartz and easy to carve. It also shows a property called double refraction, meaning objects seen through clear calcite appear doubled.
