Trolleite

Physical Information

Trolleite is a rare aluminium phosphate mineral that was first described in Sweden. Pure trolleite is usually pale in colour. The deep blue stones sold as "Trolleite" are almost always a natural mix of trolleite with lazulite, quartz and other phosphate minerals. The lazulite gives the strong blue colour, and the quartz adds lighter, white areas.

Most of this blue material comes from Brazil. It is usually massive, without visible crystals, and is cut into tumbled stones, palm stones and spheres. Because it is a mixture, the look and hardness can vary from piece to piece. Clean it with a soft, dry cloth and keep it away from harsh chemicals.

Metaphysical Properties

Trolleite is known as a stone of inner peace. It is believed to quiet a busy mind and help people let go of emotional tension. Many people use it in meditation when they want to feel calm, open and clear.

It is associated with the third eye chakra and the throat chakra. People often choose it when they want to trust their intuition, or when they need calm, honest words in a difficult conversation. It is a gentle companion for quiet evenings and reflective moments.
