Silicium

Physical Information

Silicium is the old European name for silicon, a chemical element. In nature, silicon is never found as a pure metal. It is always bound with oxygen, for example in quartz, sand and many other minerals. The shiny pieces sold as silicium are man-made. They are produced in industry by melting quartz at very high temperatures and refining it into silicon metal.

The result is a lightweight material with a bright, metallic, silver-grey or bluish shine and sharp, crystal-like surfaces. Silicon is very important in modern technology, for example in computer chips and solar panels. It is hard but brittle, so it can chip if dropped. Keep it dry and wipe it with a soft cloth.

Metaphysical Properties

Silicium is known as a stone of focus and clarity. Because silicon helps carry signals in electronics, it is seen as a symbol of connection and clear communication. It is believed to help organise scattered thoughts and support concentration, discipline and problem-solving.

Silicium is associated with the third eye chakra and the crown chakra, which are linked to insight and mental clarity. Many people keep a piece on their desk while working or studying, or hold it when they want to feel more structured, focused and energised.
