Rutilated quartz
Physical Information
Rutilated Quartz is clear or smoky quartz with fine needles of rutile inside. Rutile is a titanium dioxide mineral, and its needles can be golden, silver, copper-red or dark. They may look like fine hair, straight rays or dense bundles of light, so every piece is one of a kind.
The rutile crystals formed first, and the quartz grew around them. Well-known sources include Brazil and Madagascar. As a quartz, it has a hardness of about 7 and is easy to care for. Pieces with bright golden needles in very clear quartz are the most sought after.
Metaphysical Properties
Rutilated Quartz is often called a stone of illumination, because its needles look like rays of light. It is believed to amplify energy and intention, bring clarity and support motivation. Many people use it when they want focus, fresh energy or support in manifestation work.
It is associated with the solar plexus chakra and the crown chakra. People like to keep it at their workspace, wear it as jewellery or use it in meditation when they want to feel confident, inspired and connected to their intuition.
