Red Que Sera

Physical Information

Red Que Sera is a warm-toned variety of Que Sera, a trade name for a colourful multi-mineral rock. It is a natural mix of minerals such as quartz, feldspar, kaolinite and iron oxides like hematite. The iron gives this variety its red, burgundy and rusty shades. The stone shows mottled, speckled or swirling patterns in red, pink, cream, beige and brown, and no two pieces look the same.

Que Sera comes from Brazil and is not very common. With a hardness of around 6–7 on the Mohs scale, it is durable enough for palm stones, spheres, carvings and beads. Because it is a mix of minerals, some areas can be a little softer. A soft cloth and mild soapy water are enough to keep it clean.

Red Que Sera is known as a stone of motivation and renewal. It is believed to combine the gentle, uplifting energy of Que Sera with the warm, grounding energy of its red minerals. Many people use it when they feel tired or heavy and want to find their strength and enthusiasm again.

It is associated with the root chakra and the sacral chakra, which are linked to stability, courage and passion. Its name, from "que sera, sera" ("whatever will be, will be"), also connects it to acceptance and going with the flow.
