Lemurian Quartz

Physical Information

Lemurian Quartz is a form of clear quartz with a special surface feature. Some of its faces show fine horizontal lines or ridges, which crystal lovers often call "barcodes". The crystals are usually long and clear, sometimes with a light pink or orange tint from a thin iron-rich coating.

Most Lemurian Quartz comes from Brazil. Like all quartz, it has a hardness of 7 and is quite durable. Protect the points from knocks, as the tips can chip. Rinse it with lukewarm water and let it dry naturally.

Metaphysical Properties

The name comes from the legend of Lemuria, a mythical lost civilisation. Many people believe these crystals carry messages of ancient wisdom, and they use them in meditation to feel connected to their higher self and spiritual guides. It is known as a stone of spiritual awakening.

It is associated with the crown chakra. Many people use it to support compassion, self-love and letting go of the past. Some gently run a finger along the ridges during meditation, and others use it to amplify their intentions and set clear goals.
