Lavender Jade
Physical Information
True Lavender Jade is jadeite, one of the two minerals called jade. It has a soft lilac to lavender colour and a smooth, slightly waxy shine. Jadeite forms deep underground under high pressure, and it is very tough, with a hardness of about 6.5 to 7 on the Mohs scale. The finest lavender jadeite comes from Myanmar.
Natural lavender jadeite is rare and can be costly. Please note that many stones sold as "lavender jade" are dyed jadeite, dyed quartzite or other dyed stones. These can still be beautiful, but their colour is not natural. A very bright, even purple colour, or colour gathered in small cracks, can be a sign of dye. Keep dyed pieces away from strong sunlight and chemicals.

Lavender Jade is known as a stone of tranquility. It is believed to bring calm, gentleness and emotional balance. Many people use it when they want to soften stress, be kinder to themselves and others, and bring more peace into daily life. In many cultures, jade is also a traditional symbol of good fortune.
It is associated with the heart chakra and the crown chakra, which are linked to love and spiritual peace. Many people wear lavender jade close to the skin as a bracelet or pendant, or keep a small piece in a pocket as a calm reminder during the day.
