Larvikite

Physical Information

Larvikite is an igneous rock primarily composed of feldspar minerals and is recognised for its dark grey to black colour combined with striking silver or blue flashes caused by reflective feldspar inclusions. This optical effect gives the stone a mysterious and elegant appearance similar to Labradorite, although Larvikite has a denser and darker structure.

This stone originates mainly from the Larvik region of Norway, from which it takes its name. Due to its durability and beautiful reflective patterns, Larvikite is widely used in jewellery, decorative carvings, architectural stonework, and crystal collections.
