Infinite Serpentine

Physical Information

Infinite, often sold as Infinite Serpentine or Infinite Stone, is a trade name for a special type of serpentine. It is usually described as a mix of serpentine minerals and chlorite. The colour ranges from light to deep green, often with grey, black or silvery patterns. When polished, it has a soft, silky shine.

Infinite is mostly known from South Africa. Like other serpentine, it is a fairly soft stone, with a hardness of about 3 to 5 on the Mohs scale. It is often cut into palm stones, spheres and carvings. It can scratch easily, so store it away from harder crystals and clean it only with a soft, dry cloth.

Metaphysical Properties

Infinite is known as a stone of gentle calm and emotional balance. It is believed to help release fear and tension and to bring a sense of peace. Many people use it for grounding and protection, and to feel connected to nature.

Like other serpentine, it is associated with the heart chakra and with Kundalini energy, the spiritual energy thought to rest at the base of the spine. Many people hold a smooth Infinite palm stone during meditation or keep one nearby on stressful days.
