Indigo Gabbro

Physical Information

Indigo Gabbro is a coarse-grained igneous rock. It is made mainly of feldspar and dark minerals such as pyroxene, which create its black, grey and white patterns, sometimes with a soft indigo or violet tone. It is also sold under the trade name “Mystic Merlinite”, but it is a gabbro, not a separate mineral.

Indigo Gabbro comes from Madagascar. When polished, some pieces show small sparkling or silvery flashes, and every piece has its own swirling pattern. It is a durable stone and easy to care for; clean it with a soft, damp cloth.

Metaphysical Properties

Indigo Gabbro is known as a stone of intuition and inner transformation. It is believed to help people look inward, balance the light and shadow sides within themselves, and grow through change. Many people use it in meditation, journaling or shadow work.

It is associated with the root chakra and the third eye chakra, so it is described as both grounding and spiritually opening. People like to keep it close during times of deep personal change, when they want to feel steady while exploring their inner world.
