Fuchsite
Physical Information
Fuchsite is a bright green, sparkling variety of muscovite mica. Its green colour comes from chromium. Like all micas, it forms in thin, flat layers that can easily split apart, and it has a shimmering, pearly shine. Fuchsite also gives the green sparkle to many green aventurine stones.
It forms in metamorphic rocks, often together with quartz, and is found in countries such as Brazil and India. Fuchsite is soft (about 2–3 on the Mohs scale) and flaky, so handle it gently, keep it away from water and scratches, and dust it with a soft brush.
Metaphysical Properties
Fuchsite is known as a stone of renewal. Its fresh green colour is believed to bring a light, cheerful and nurturing energy. Many people use it when they feel tired, when they want to take better care of themselves, or when they spend time in nature.
It is associated with the heart chakra. People often keep it near plants, place it in a cosy corner of the home, or hold it during quiet moments to feel more relaxed, kind to themselves and connected to the natural world.
