Danburite
Physical Information
Danburite is a calcium borosilicate mineral. It forms clear, glassy crystals, often colourless, but sometimes pale pink, champagne or light yellow. The crystals are long and pointed with fine lines along their sides, and they sparkle beautifully in the light. It was named after Danbury in Connecticut, USA, where it was first found.
Today, fine danburite crystals come from Mexico, Madagascar and other countries. It is hard (about 7–7.5 on the Mohs scale), but the crystal points can chip, so store it separately from other stones. Clean it with lukewarm water and a soft cloth.
Metaphysical Properties
Danburite is known as a stone of soul light. Its clear, bright crystals are believed to bring a gentle, peaceful and uplifting energy. Many people use it to calm a busy mind, to feel more connected to their inner guidance, and to open the heart.
It is associated with the heart chakra and the crown chakra. People often hold it during meditation, pair it with rose quartz for emotional support, or keep it on the bedside table for a calm evening routine and restful sleep.
