Physical Information

Citrine is a yellow to golden-orange variety of quartz coloured by traces of iron within its crystal structure. Its shades can range from pale honey yellow to deep amber tones, often displaying excellent clarity and a glass-like lustre. Natural Citrine is relatively rare, while many commercially available specimens are heat-treated amethyst or smoky quartz.

Major sources of Citrine include Brazil, Madagascar, Russia, and Bolivia. Due to its bright appearance and durability, Citrine is highly popular in jewellery, decorative pieces, and crystal collections. Its warm glow and sunny colour have made it one of the most admired crystals throughout history.
