Aura Quartz

Physical Information

Aura Quartz is natural quartz that has been coated with a very thin layer of metal in a laboratory. The quartz is heated in a vacuum chamber, and metal vapour bonds to its surface. This treatment creates bright, rainbow-like colours that do not occur in nature. So the crystal underneath is real quartz, but its colour is man-made.

Different metals give different colours. Angel Aura Quartz is usually made with platinum or silver and has a soft, pearly shimmer. Aqua Aura Quartz is made with gold and is bright blue. Rainbow or Titanium Aura Quartz uses titanium or niobium and shows strong metallic rainbow colours. The coating can scratch or wear off, so avoid salt, harsh cleaners and rubbing. Wipe it gently with a soft cloth.
