Larimar
Larimar is admired for its soft blue to turquoise tones, often patterned with white, cloud-like marbling that resembles sunlight dancing on the ocean. Its calm, tropical appearance makes each piece feel light, fresh, and naturally elegant.
Because of its distinctive color and smooth texture, Larimar is commonly used for polished stones, cabochons, beads, and decorative pieces. Every specimen shows unique patterns formed by natural mineral processes.
✨ Fact & Fun Fact:
Larimar is a rare blue variety of pectolite, a sodium calcium silicate mineral. It is found only in the Dominican Republic, making it one of the few gemstones with a single known source. Its blue color comes from copper. The name “Larimar” was created in the 1970s from the name Larissa (the discoverer’s daughter) and the Spanish word mar (sea).
