Hemimorphite Tumble Stone- 3cm
Hemimorphite
Hemimorphite is admired for its soft blue to blue-green tones and its delicate, often botryoidal or crystalline formations. Its surface can appear smooth, glassy, or finely textured, giving each piece a light and airy visual character.
Because of its attractive color and interesting crystal habits, Hemimorphite is commonly used for polished stones, cabochons, carvings, and collector specimens. Well-formed pieces are especially valued for their natural structure and subtle color variations.
✨ Fact & Fun Fact:
Hemimorphite is a zinc silicate mineral (Zn₄Si₂O₇(OH)₂·H₂O). Its name comes from the Greek words hemi (half) and morph (shape), referring to the fact that its crystals have different terminations at each end. Hemimorphite was historically confused with smithsonite until the two minerals were scientifically distinguished in the 19th century.
