Blue Agate
Blue Agate is known for its soothing blue tones and characteristic banded patterns. Its layers can range from light sky blue to deeper shades, often combined with white or gray bands that create a flowing, natural design.
Because of its durability and attractive color, Blue Agate is commonly used for polished stones, slices, beads, cabochons, and decorative objects. Each piece displays unique banding formed through natural mineral deposition.
✨ Fact & Fun Fact:
Blue Agate is a variety of chalcedony (microcrystalline quartz, SiO₂) formed in volcanic rock cavities. The banded structure develops as silica-rich fluids deposit layers over time. Natural blue agate is relatively rare; many bright blue specimens on the market are dyed to enhance their color. Major sources include Brazil, Uruguay, and India.
