Sugilite

Sugilite

Physical Information

Sugilite is a rare cyclosilicate mineral known for its vivid purple, magenta, and violet hues.
Its colour comes from trace amounts of manganese, giving it a rich, saturated tone that ranges from soft lavender to deep royal purple.
Sugilite typically forms in massive, opaque structures, though high-quality pieces may show translucent areas.
It was first discovered in Japan in 1944 and later found in significant quantities in South Africa, which remains the primary source today.
The mineral often appears with black manganese veins, pink patches, or fibrous texture depending on composition.
With a Mohs hardness of 6–6.5, it is suitable for jewelry, carvings, and healing pieces, but still considered one of the rarer and more collectible purple stones.

Metaphysical Properties

Sugilite is associated with spiritual protection, emotional healing, and high-vibration energy.
It is known as a powerful stone of love, helping release negativity, trauma, and emotional blockages.
Many use Sugilite to strengthen intuition, enhance spiritual awareness, and bring comfort during difficult times.
It is believed to shield the aura, calm the mind, and encourage self-acceptance and inner peace.
Sugilite is especially valued for supporting sensitive individuals, empaths, and anyone seeking deep, transformative healing.
